DD Perks Year in Review 2

eCommerce, Food and drink, Loyalty Link

Subject Line: Luke, here’s your DD Perks Year in Review!

Creative Review:  Here’s another example of a data driven Year in Review email.  DD Perks used the same subject line as last time, but comparing 2016 email to 2017’s email they did update the content using the new data.  For example, my favorite day to visit changed from Friday to Saturday, though I still go at lunch time.  They dumped the badges earned and changed the subtle call to action to get the mobile app included in 2016, to show my usage of the mobile ordering.  I suspect the previous year showed default content there.   Which bring me to my tip – always have some default content for personalized sections as a fallback for when you have no coverage for that data point.

I'm a veteran email marketer with over a decade of experience. While most people associate me with email analytics, I took over editing duties at Beautiful Email Newsletters to spend more time working with creative. Serving as an ECHO Award Judge since 2011 and a Smarties Awards Judge since 2015, I've gotten the chance to review some of the best marketing campaigns in world (and some of the worst). Now as the Editor-in-Chief, I hope to share campaigns that BEN would approve and continue the mission of this great site!
